The Student discount can be used for up to 4 years. If you didn't receive an email to renew it and the page says you're not eligible when you try to verify with SheerID, it's most likely because you've already used the 4 years of the discount.

The Student plan is a separate Premium offer and cannot be combined with the Family plan. If you are currently the Family plan owner, and personally eligible for the Student one, you could cancel your Family subscription and apply for Student.

You might have accidentally redeemed the discount on the other account which you don't have access to, but if you still remember your credentials such as the email address linked to it for example, you can reach out to the support team in one of the ways mentioned here.
The issue is simple either manually add the student discount especially if I am already verified or just tell me it doesn't exist. Skip all the dramatics and saying there is a glitch they are working on it blah blah blah.
I have the same issue with the student discount from the German Unidays website. I am registered there but the website tells me: "Wie es aussieht, kannst du das reduzierte Produkt, das du kaufen möchtest, nicht erhalten.
P.S. Spotify isn't stealing when they increase the rate after 12 months - when you first apply, you have to certify that you read the terms and conditions, which say that the discount only applies to the first 12 months, and you agree to being charged the full amount after 12 months unless you prove you are still a student.
In this situation, it's best to cancel your subscription. You'll still have Premium until the end of your current billing period.
The Premium for Students discount lasts 12 months at a time, with the option to renew a maximum of 3 times. This policy applies to all Spotify users, no matter if they stay at a university or transfer to another one. 🙂
