Theyre dumb because xci can already be installed so converting is pointless. Dumped can mean anything, literally any rom has to be dumped, that label is meaningless. And for the love of god stop using ancient software. Dumped would be xci files (dumped from a cart) and converted is simply converting the file type to nsp.
I do believe that technically they’re not different at all, but for some reason XCI works way better for me than NSP. From what I’ve read and experienced. NSP’s are more stable for reasons I don’t understand and XCI’s play better with mods for reasons I also don’t understandX. XCI has a slightly bigger file size.

NSP converted to XCI XCI including all updates and DLC As mentioned in the first post, it’s great for external HDD use. Basically games that I ONLY play as party games when docked I keep on external HDD or games I simply just play sometimes and have lesser priority. Or even games I’ve beaten and just keep for going back to sometimes.
Basically, forget NSPs, find the XCI version. Supposedly you can do it with the NSP, but it didn't even show up for me, so XCI is probably a safer bet. Open the XCI with the emulator Yuzu, right click, and select "unpack romfs." This will create a corresponding file with the assets inside.
