BTW, you need the special adapter that Sony offers for free for PSVR to work, though I think it comes with new purchases of the gizmo. You don't even have to wear the VR headset. Now for the tech negative... turning on the PSVR headset degrades the resolution on PS5 games and movies on your big screen down to 1080P max, and HDR goes away.
I'm not having much success with using the voice input/mic on the PS5 Pulse Headset on Discord/PC. Audio works great - I hear fine. Painless setup. But my friends on Discord say they can't hear me well at all. I've set Discord input/gain to max. I can't find much help on this, though my google-fu might suck.
Worst headset I've ever bought. Not properly adjustable so you have this big rubber headband pushing down on your head the entire time you are wearing it and it's so uncomfortable. Sound quality feels on par for a $30 headset, not a $100 one. Go with any other major name brand.

It was nearly impossible to buy Sony's console due to the PS5 restock shortage in 2020 and 2021. Sony's inventory woes have been coming back to haunt them. Gold headset is not hard toggle and still doesn't work. Solution to the hard toggle / mute stated above. Pretty easy to resolve with minimum UI messaging. Also, horrible design decision to make your PS5 branded headset have a mute button incompatible with the PS5 DualSense.
Sure you could mute your headset by fiddling with the buttons on the headset itself, but it's much more convenient to do so with the button that you can see right in front of you. It should work with the headset that Sony marketed as THE headset for the PS5. The audio on this thing would be fine if the headset was in the $60-80 dollar price range.
It works fine on PC, just like the Gold headset, but I have to plug it into my PS5 and turn that on just to charge it which is really obnoxious. Also, while I avoid using rest mode on my PS5 most of the time anyway, my Platinum headset also won't charge through my PS5 if it's in rest mode even though I have it set to charge plugged-in devices ...

Compared to the Sony PS4 Gold Headset it was a thousand times better but the Gold Headsets are crap in almost every way, especially build quality so that's not saying much. I'm currently waiting on great new headsets that support PS5, Switch and Xbox all the same.
