yea, i thought custom capes where a bit more expensive than that. Also I think it would give the achievements a purpose. however, that is defiantly something to consider. also, I cant help but wonder how long it actually would take to get past that filter. maybe getting past it is enough to earn a cape lol.

"Use custom optifine capes in Minecraft Made By iTrojang"-from github there's no other info, just that but above you mentioned that it's able to bypass optifines checks and also work on clients that don't support 3rd party mods. As well it's client side only as well.

Also, the current skins dont have capes, and the size of the image cant fit one on. Making the template larger to fit capes would either the skins we make, distorting the image by stretching it, or make them incompatible. If our skins are incompatible with minecraft, nobody can use them. We would have to remake our skins to be compatible.

In my Personal Opinion, the idea of custom capes in Minecraft for all devices that use bedrock would be a fantastic idea. Right now only Pc and mobile have custom capes. But instead of having to edit files, I think it should just be in the base game. It doesn't have to be free, it just really hast to be in the game.
