Robert Hurt (born June 16, 1969) is an American attorney and politician who served as the U.S. representative for Virginia's 5th congressional district from 2011 to 2017, where he served on the Financial Services Committee as vice chair of the Capital Markets Subcommittee and Housing and Insurance Subcommittee.
Hurt is a native of Chatham, Virginia. Hurt is the son of investigative journalist and former Reader's Digest editor Henry C. Hurt and his wife, Margaret Nolting Williams. His older brother, Robert Hurt, is a former United States Congressman. Charles Hurt had been listed as a possible congressional candidate before his brother's term ended in 2016.
