Too late at this point but they have finally enabled using an Authenticator instead of SMS (unreliable and unsecure). So if you get your account back enable 2FA again setup something like Authy and for godsakes keep the restore keys and PSN recovery codes stored somewhere safe.

Having worked with this account system before, I don't recommend doing this. Should you ever need to sort out the issue on the Square-Enix side, it will be a much bigger headache. They should be able to resolve the issue with one call. Just don't make a second PSN account in an attempt to try and solve the issue.
