My partner has been playing SV with SMAPI handling a few mods for her. It's working, though SMAPI is not easy to wield. So we were excited to see Vortex can handle mods with the game. It's properly installed on her PC, it's managing the game, several mods have been successfully installed and activated, but yet none of them are working in the game.
I installed SMAPI for my Android tablet but it only installed the 3.7.6.1 version. I downloaded the updated 3.14.2 version but it's not updating the old version. I can't use certain mods until I get it updated.
Then we disabled all the mods, not including SMAPI as it's disappeared from the list. My friend tried running the game again through Vortex, and got two alerts: 1. Failed to run tool. 2. Deployment Failed: 1 files were not correctly deployed (see log for details).
When I try I get this

First I downloaded SMAPI and the mods I wanted, they're all Enabeld and nothing has any errors, but when I try open Stardew Valley with SMAPI (is primary) it opens shortly and then closes a millisecond later. I tryed reinstalling SMAPI, didn't work ...
hi when i play my game through the vortex and sampi all my controllers dont work! xbox ps4 and steam! but only through. vortex and sampi! But other wise i love vortex its a great mod manager. i not a big keybord and mouse girl on some games, lol im all over the place star dew!
Posted August 2, 2023. You need to ensure Stardew Valley on Vortex's mod staging folder are on the same drive. If that drive is an external HDD then it's likely not formatted correctly for Vortex to work on it. Hardlink deployment requires an NTFS file system (which all Windows C:\ drives will be by default), most external drives come as FAT32 ...
Stardew Valley "failed to run tool"? Vortex seems to not want to run Stardew Valley through SMAPI (I'm modding my game). I'm aware that Vortex doesn't exactly play nice with SMAPI, but I haven't had this problem in the past. Ever since the new update (and deleting/reinstalling my mods), it's refusing to start up.
SMAPI is a framework for running Stardew Valley with mods installed. SMAPI stands for Stardew Modding Application Programming Interface. The SMAPI website can tell you where to find and download mods, presumably at reliable websites such as NexusMods. The URL for this list is smapi.io/mods. Vortex is a specific tool for downloading from NexusMods.
