YES! This is also a problem for me (Selling from Turkey) as the post office keeps asking me for the receiver phone number. I have just had a package returned (rare) and if there was a phone number this would have all been avoided. I think there should be a field to add a phone number.
Etsy missed the back and forth messages with customer, confirming the address, sending case number & information and supplying USPS updates. Two days later Etsy wasn't looking when the shop took the call from the customer's local post office with the results of the investigation which determined that the package had been correctly delivered.
Etsy for over 10 years has had workers working from home. They've also had over 6 weeks to make adjustments for more people to work from home. This isn't new for them. PLUS their home base is in NYC but customer service is all over. I've talked to people in WA before. Etsy cutting support however isn't anything new.
I can't even find the way to contact etsy customer service to receive the actual gift card number with transaction #. I received it from my father in law, and I believe he purchased on online. Thank you in advance!

This would probably only work as incoming to me (I have unlimited text plan) though eBay does provide a customer phone number, I don't see Etsy does. Perhaps something can be added in the future, "Would you like to receive text message updates for your order?" Opt in only. USPS provides a text message service for delivery updates. Any thoughts?
