I hope this is in the right place and I don't know what I'm doing but how do I add skins for mobs (in minecraft edu). There was a route which I did try which included putting it in com.mojang/resource_packs/resources for chicken/textures/entity as I'm reskinning the chicken and also parrots. No idea what I'm doing. Please help.
If you are talking about the folder located at .minecraft\assets\skins, that is just a cache of all player skins that have been downloaded, including your own skins (I only see a single skin, my own, in this folder, saved using an encoded name) and everybody else on multiplayer (so if you play online a lot it can get very large).

There are so many skins circulating in minecraft and whole new techniques for skins and such. But how would those skins look if they were monochrome/grayscale or with Inverted colors It is sort of cool. You can invert skins by opening different image editors (GIMP, Photoshop, etc) and looking for the invert colors option
