NJ is the most populous state so it appears that NJ has a lot of bad drivers. It has nothing to do with the roads or the age of drivers.
Drive the car around. I beleive some methods to help reset monitors are to do a prolonged idle of 10-15 mins, then to travel on the highway at >55MPH for 10 mins and then some low-speed sustained crusing of around 35MPH or so. Each car is different, but i find a test drive doing those parameters helps reset monitors quickly.
