Colt Delta Elite and Hot 10mm Ammo. I have a newer production colt delta elite. I have researched and read lots on the unsupported chamber. I also talked with a guy at my local gun shop and he said he has shot some pretty hot stuff out of a delta with no problems. My set up is a FLGR and a 24lb recoil spring from Wilson Combat.
I assume you mean the Colt Delta with the rail. If the Kimber had the mechanical firing pin safety based of the grip safety I would go with the Colt. If not it would be a harder choice. I have an older 1990 Delta Gold Cup and love it but do not have a 10mm Kimber, just ones in 45 ACP.

Like I said I believe colt is the only 1911 10mm manufacturer that uses a plastic guide rod and possibly the double springs. I’m sure if I called colt they wouldn’t recommend the Wilson stainless steel guide rode and single 24lb spring but as I said all the websites said it was either sold out or discontinued.
first run of colts delta 10mm On the birth of my daughter. March 1988 i bought a colt delta elite 10mm. 504 dollars out the door. Going on 30 years still is the best semi auto out there. I do not own all the makes of semi auto pistols. I own Raven, sig, ruger, glock, Springfield, Beretta and the colt. My colt has more then doubled in price.
I have several Colt Delta 10mm 1911's - they are my favorite pistols (to look at) I love to shoot them and they perform 100% (10mm is very snappy round) I am sure the new Colt Delta Elite will run well also. Only caution is ammo is very expensive in 10mm. Which is why mine are safe queens lately.

I've tried single recoil springs, springs with and without full length guide rods, and full length guide rods which, IIRC, telescoped.
Brownell's has some of the Colt factory 8-rd mags (in blue), but they're pricey. Brownell's also sells the 9-rd CMCs and the 8-rd Metalforms. There's also Tripp's 9-rd Cobra mags in 10mm. I was wondering what sight option there was or some of your favorites. I've been running either Trijicon 3 dot night sights, novaks or gold dot. This 10mm will be used for hunting and of coarse some range time ...
