So I believe with the game pass, you get access to the Java edition account plus the bedrock edition. So basically once you have the account, you login, and you are good to go. Currently most launchers that I know of (MultiMC and GDLauncher) already have Mircosoft account support. Then you can just install the modpack just like normal

CurseForge is great. What are you doing? It creates "profiles" in which Minecraft and Forge versions are isolated. You don't mess with the files unless you need to add to whatever modpack you are playing. It's actually really neat the tricks it does, as I haven't seen any documentation by Mojang for doing multiple profiles.
