On November 14, 2006, the Greater Clark County Schools board voted 7–0 to build a new Charlestown High School. The new school would consist of 100 acres (as opposed to the current building's 30-40 acres) and is intended to educate 900 to over 1000 students. Students were officially allowed into the new Charlestown High School on January 4, 2010.
