  3. Gear ratio vs. Line retrieve - 2 Cool Fishing Forum

We can calculate the circumference using this number which ends up being 101.60mm (4"). Now you multiply the gear ratio by the circumference which gives you 25. This is the IPT for this reel. 50/8 = 6.25. 6.25 x 4 = 25. The Core 50Mg has the same spool circumference of 4". Using the 7:1 gear ratio we acheive 28 IPT.

And that was back in the 80’s and 90’s. Lost a lot of stringers. This is nothing new, just a lot more people in the water now so attacks will increase some with more ...

  5. What is my boat's "maximum safe range"? - 2 Cool Fishing Forum

    www.2coolfishing.com/threads/what-is-my-boats-maximum-safe-range.2731888

4 MPG is agressive, especially for an older outboard. I would be surprised if it got 3 mpg, especially loaded down on the way out. With only a 30 gallon capacity and an optimistic 3 mpg consumption, safe range is probably 30 miles, especially if you leave the motor running all day and do some trolling or moving around.

Engine is a Yamaha F115LB which is very like the SHO 115 but gray paint, my max RPM should be 5,300-6,300 RPM. After reading what worked for similar boats, last summer I bought a Turbo1 19p prop. Beautiful prop but only spun 5,000 rpms, swapped it out for a 17p that turns 5,500, technically in the range.

If 90% of your fishing is in super shallow water then its a good option. Does not pole well. Reply Like. Bird.

Top flight. Yes you can out of certain spinners but real spincast spinners have a unique spinner plate with an extremely small hole and with more openings to sling the grain. They just always have problems. Feeders with big openings and lots of space between the opening and the spinner will work fine.
