  2. UQ or Y! Mobile I'm thinking to switch soon and need advice

I was with UQ for awhile and now with Y. UQ coverage was much better. Y is much cheaper. I think I would have stuck with UQ if I didn't need a new phone. Plus when I signed up and changed my internet, I got about ¥50,000 to spend at K's. Was able to get a new AC for the house. 6.

KDDI's UQ Mobile - my experience. I recently decided to finally switch from my overpriced 7000 yen/month for 7GB data Softbank phone plan to a lower cost service, and after completing the number portability request I was ready to go and my Japanese friend has a low cost plan with UQ Mobile so I decided to sign up with them.

TL;DR I'm thinking of buying a new phone, but I'm pretty happy with my UQ mobile service. Anyone have experience/troubles getting it to work? Now for the details cause I'm sure someone would ask. Simply answer if you like without reading. 4 years ago, I got an Xperia XZ3 through Softbank. Love the phone, hare Softbank.

When I wanted to cancel the service they charged me about $150 to do so. People tell me that’s just Japanese culture. しょがない, but I feel really cheated by them. 2. Reply. Award. I just bought a 4G S20 FE, still not arrived yet. I was wondering if it's working with UQ mobile in Japan. On the website there is a list of tested….

  7. Best of the big 3 (plus maybe UQ + Rakuten + Y Mobile)

    www.reddit.com/.../jc33ga/best_of_the_big_3_plus_maybe_uq_rakuten_y_mobile

I'm thinking about switching to UQ mobile 12G that costs ~3500 a month with the 60min call addon, plus continuing my rakuten subscription. With that combined I'm getting two phone numbers both with free-to-opt-out contract, unlimited data with rakuten tethering(and UQ 12G when out of Rakuten network), and costing me ~6500 a month.

  8. Cannot make phone calls with UQ Mobile : r/japanlife - Reddit

jamar030303. • 4 yr. ago. It's probably VoLTE that's the issue. The Pixel 2XL doesn't support VoLTE on certain carriers, and without VoLTE you can't make phone calls while on LTE. The other piece of the puzzle is that UQ stopped offering non-VoLTE SIMs (drops down to CDMA for voice) to new customers last year. 2.

UQ Mobile did the exact opposite that I asked for. What can I do to get them to fix their mistake? I got a pocket wifi today, I was exhausted so I went home happily thinking that I finally have unlimited access to the internet.

  10. Japan sim card that works with foreign/Chinese phones?

Mobal didn't work, UQ mobile didn't work, however Sakura mobile (sakuramobile.jp) (long term plan- make sure to using the apn settings for long term, not short term travel sims) worked perfectly (uses docomo, claims their servers are fast and that server is where the bottle neck usually is, not the actual network speed connection). I even have ...

  11. UQ versus J-COM Mobile : r/japanlife - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/comments/ttm599/uq_versus_jcom_mobile

UQ versus J-COM Mobile. Sales from J-COM tried to persuade us to ditch UQ for them. Both run on the au network, but J-COM is just an MVNO. The cost would be about 2,000 yen cheaper, and they were offering free transfer rather than the usual 3,000 yen paperwork charge. Any reasons not to switch?
