Cannot log in to Max (formerly HBO Max) via Roku app anymore. TV screen says to "update" to Max but there's no QR code to scan or any way to login to Max from the TV. I canceled the HBO Max subscription that I was getting from Roku and then signed up for Max directly through their website. Still cannot login to Max app from TV via Roku.
Re: MAX Login password length. It is Roku's job as the platform owner to ensure that all applications available on its platform meet a consistent set of quality criteria (Apple does this for iOS; Google for Android). Clearly, an app that fails to login fails the quality test.
The transition from HBO MAX to MAX did not work for me. I tried to connect through provider. I went through the steps, but the app never moved past the screen that gave the number to enter on the website. I tried to enter the user name and password. After I did this, the MAX channel exited. Now, I can no longer launch the MAX channel.
I chose login with a QR code/Provider, which puts a QR code and a 6 digit code on the screen. If you scan the code, it asks you to choose your provider, which if you're like me and have an account with HBO directly, is useless.

HBO Max will NOT play certain movies--once "play" is pressed, it buffers and then goes right back to the movie page. It is an endless loop. I have uninstalled HBO Max app. Restarted Roku. Add HBO Max. Problem persists. Repeat process won't work. Just an endless loop. HBO Max works on other devices, so this appears to be a Roku specific issue.
HBO Max on my phone works fine - and thank goodness I can Airplay to Roku to watch HBO Max content today. However, the Roku app refuses to allow me to authenticate via my AT&T login. Instead, it wants me to (re)subscribe for $15.99/mo for a service I *already* receive via AT&T. What a poor experience by Roku.
