Did the ufo ghosting test and was shocked to find pretty bad ghosting. Going to try to turn off the OC and go back to 144 hz... but I doubt anything will fix this. I think this monitor may have to go back to Amazon. I was so surprised because I read almost every user review and pro review and no one said this monitor has a ghosting issue.
Check out the Test UFO Ghosting Test on both nemmera. When the XL2420T's AMA is enabled it will streak/smear considerably less (sub 3ms pixel response times) but it suffers from obvious (IMO, PRAD's measurements confirm this) overshoot ghosting. When AMA is set to Off the BenQ's pixel response times are slower than most modern IPS/PLS/AHVA.
Unfortunately the Monex monitor engineers decided it was ok to let Samsung equip the PLS panel with an insultingly low 175hz LED PWM Dimming frequency. I often observed mild flickering and the low frequency made the moving UFO's from the TEST UFO Ghosting Test appear slightly jittery as well as obviously blurrier when compared to a PWM free ...
^^ Nice find!! Just goes to show how valid that UFO Ghosting PWM test really is. Even at 100% brightness, the LG flickered to my eyes and the test. I think LG needs to made an example of somehow. I like how they use the words 'Flicker Safe' not 'Flicker Free'. That totally gets them out of any accountability.

They all looks terribly similar on UFO test when the image moves fast enough. Normal gameplay like Doom with the hardest difficulty hardly moves that fast. That's why the ghosting is hardly noticed. You buy the monitor for triple A games with graphics. There is TN eSport monitor for high-tier gameplay.
My understanding is that the Acer is "better" calibrated out of box for office use and watching movies? From post #872. I recall you asking questions I answered in previous posts before, please read posts more carefully. I just double checked TFT Central's review, and the Acer has better...
I just did the lagom.nl ghosting test on my Samsung Q9FN VA TV and it registers no ghosting at all. (edit when looking at the photos on screen from above I can see 1 or 2 bars of ghosting [depending on the test], they cannot be seen when seated though) For kicks I did the pixel walk tests and saw no artefacts on any of them.
This isn't true at all, and a good reviewer will criticize the use of low PWM frequencies since it ruins motion clarity, as well as defeats the point of buying a 4K display for gaming. My B326HK just arrived. Everything looks good except that crappy DP cable - so I have to run either 4K at 30hz or 2560P at 60hz.
