It says that console companion was delated in august 2023, i just bought a xbox one but i only have my laptop. i looked it up on google before i bought the xbox and it said i could 100% use my laptop as a monitor. this was Bull. please dont tell me i just waisted my money. Remote play is available through the Xbox app.
The other Xbox App is pretty much useless for me, sure i can chat with xbox Friends and Download games to pc (but thats what i have my xbox For) also the companion app had way more functions then the new app does. Now i have upgraded My laptop to Windows 11, but the console companion doesnt work anymore. It starts, but then crashes to desktop.
Not sure why the app itself was removed from the microsoft store as when i tried to search for it, there were no relevant results. And when i tried to search for xbox console companion on the microsoft web store, it instead appeared. Then i had to download the app from the web store itself, but im unsure whether its safe to do so or not.
