List of Neighbours characters. Neighbours is a long-running Australian television soap opera first broadcast on the Seven Network on 18 March 1985. It was created by TV executive Reg Watson, who proposed the idea of making a show that focused on realistic stories and portrayed adults and teenagers who talk openly and solve their problems together.

The sixth season of Neighbours began airing from 11 January 1990. [ 1 ] January saw the arrival of the Alessi twins Caroline and Christina Alessi played by Gayle & Gillian Blakeney. In February, Josh Anderson and Ryan McLachlan, played by Jeremy Angerson and Richard Norton, respectively, made their first appearances.
