I did chat with Amazon. Three different reps. Was hoping they'd forgive 2 weeks late on the refund policy. But they seemed to sympathize with my issue and could only advise me to contact higher up in MSI customer service to complain. I decided however to submit the RMA web form even though it told me my correct serial number was invalid.
The phone number is unavailable. It says so on the website and in the emails I received updating the order. I called it three times anyway. The recorded message says to use the website. I used the other contact options on the website. They didn't work, except to get replies from tech support and warranty, who each said to contact customer ...

Within 30 seconds they had the RMA email sent to me with instructions on how to proceed with the RMA. The phone number I called in Canada was only for MSI Computers/Laptops and Monitors but they did help me.

Instead, they now recommend cleaning the screen with 70% ethanol. But it's too late for that advice—the damage is already done. I feel like the original advice was incorrect and directly led to the damage.
Yeah, I got the same [***CENSORED***] too. Registration failed. Please check the barcode on the product or enter [ My support ] for further support. Then why ask us to go through all the trouble. I would see this as bad service.
