I haven't had too many issues with refurbished XB Series X/S or PS5s tho, so if that's the only option I'd still think it's a good choice. I would recommend the PRP if it's in your budget, just to ensure any future issues are covered for the 1 or 2 years. Pre-owned.

Advice on trading in Xbox Series X. 2yr old console. Used it 2 or 3 times then it collected dust for 6 months. Put it back in the box and haven't touched it since. I haven't traded with Gamestop before but, I was thinking of paying $25 for GameStop Pro, then hopefully get $330 cash for trade in, plus the $65 in-store credit over a 12month span ...

I got my Xbox One X refurbished from Gamestop a few years ago and it lasted till I got a series x. Try to get it from a trusted place and they might give you a warranty with it. I know it’s not the same, but I got a refurbished elite 2 controller and it’s great, works perfectly.
Ordered mine about a half an hour after I got the notification it was available from the hot stock app. Still no confirmation on it being shipped yet, but like others, today I got an email with the Game Pass code, a digital $50 gift card, and a digital copy of Game Informer magazine.
Xbox Series X All Access available through GameStop. Was just able to snag one. I’ve tried the all access application about a month ago through Target and was denied because my identity could not be verified or something like that. Here are some of the things you should check for when buying a used Series X: Make sure the console turns on and off without any issues. Check the HDMI port and make sure there are no loose cables. Inspect the fan vents for signs of excessive dust buildup. Test the controllers and make sure all buttons work properly.
It's pretty wild. Id like to hear from someone who chose the used one x over the series s or series x. I think the same thing is going on with the PS4. I was hoping to snag a cheap used one to catch up on all the last gen exclusives, but they're really expensive, about the same as the series s.
