Technical Information related to materials and finishes used on Taylor Pipe Supports products, as well as industry standard design properties of pipe.
Standardization of wrought steel Pipe schedule and pipe sizes began with the mass production era. At that time, pipes were available in only three sizes standard weight (STD), extra-strong (XS), and double extra-strong (XXS), based on the iron pipe size (IPS) system.
IPS stands for Iron Pipe Straight, and NPT stands for National Pipe Tapered. So, the name itself depicts the difference. IPS refers to a pipe sizing system with a straight thread, whereas NPT is a standard in plumbing for the tapered thread.
Pipe weights are calculated in accordance with PPI TR-7. Average inside diameter is calculated using IPS OD and Minimum wall plus 6% for use in estimating fluid flows.

ductile iron pipe size pe4710 | high density polyethylene pipe Part # 10014098 | September 2014 Pressure Ratings are calculated using 0.63 design factor for HDS at 73°F as listed in PPITR-4 for PE 4710 materials.
JM Eagle’s I.P.S. Pressure PVC Pipe conforms to ASTM D2241 for standard dimension ratios and is available in SDR 64 (63 psi) SDR 41 (100 psi), SDR 32.5 (125 psi), SDR 26 (160 psi), SDR 21 (200 psi) and SDR 17 (250 psi). PVC compounds used in the extrusion of this pipe meet or exceed the requirements of ASTM D1784 cell class 12454.
