Lamb County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 13,045. [1] Its county seat is Littlefield. [2] The county was created in 1876, but not organized until 1908. [3] It is named for George A. Lamb, who died in the Battle of San Jacinto.

Lamb County, Texas was created from Bexar Territory in 1876 and organized in 1908. The county was named in honor of George A. Lamb, who died at the Battle of San Jacinto. Olton (settled around 1900) was named the county seat in 1908 until 1946 when Littlefield was elected, and remains, the county seat of Lamb County.
