After the fiasco of the Xbox One backwards compatibility along the Xbox 360 (only doing 400 of 1000 games of the original Xbox), I don't see it as realistic that the Series X can play nearly all games. I'm sure what they meant is that they are compatible with all generation 8 games, like Halo 5 and Forza Motorsport 7 playing on a Series X via disc.

Sadly, there are quite a lot of games that never got BC, especially many sports, racing and rally games. Other not BC include Mafia MGS2, Deus Ex 2 and Mace Griffin.
