You'll need to travel a lot anyway, because the end portal (stronghold) is VERY far from the spawn, there is some mod that tweaks distances between objects.

All biomes, only 1 village. Mountain range in the east, snow in the middle, desert up north, swamp north east. The mountains have great caves in them. Grassland to the south west. seems to be missing Mushroom Biome. heaps of ravines, the stronghold is also located on the side of an underground ravine.
