Tested positive on the 19th of August, even retested this morning bc my cough is worse now than when I was positive. Mucinex D! For some people the cough can last for months. Mine went away around day 18 maybe day 17ish. It was the same for 2 weeks and the last 3 or 4 days got noticeably better.
jemsavestheday. • 3 yr. ago. My dr told me up to 6 weeks and like clockwork it stopped at like 5 1/2 weeks. My mom had it about a week after thanksgiving and her cough is still pretty bad. Nothing else lingering though. 1. Award. Share. _is_anyone_there.
My cough lasted two weeks. My kids had a cough for over a month. 4-6 weeks I’d estimate. My husband never had a cough. Only body aches and very sore throat. He had what looked like a small abscess in his throat. I’m the only one who got tested but we all had it.
Omicron, fever 102 for 3 days, sinus congestion and persistent cough. Now 9 days later, cough is just as bad. Wife, and both kids have same nasty cough and nasal congestion. Hi OP - just doing some research as I am battling the lingering omicron cough.
That darn cough is a major inconvenience. All of a sudden my throat is irritated and cough drops are a necessity. I’ve read it can last weeks or even months in some cases due to lingering inflammation. My Dr gave hubby an inhaler, recommended Mucinex DM and to use a humidifier. Checking with an urgent care physician to rule out any underlying ...
Unfortunately I developed bronchitis after so my cough lasted nearly a month :/ but I think you're in the clear until 14 days. If it lasts far past that, I would consider seeing a doctor just in case. Right now you're just stuck in the very annoying lingering stage.
It is not Long Covid. Try to see if you can see a doctor to get something for the cough to control it a bit for awhile because continued coughing will damage the area and then you get in a cycle. It also becomes a little "psychological" if it goes on for too long which I think is where I"m at now. 2. Award.
I got pretty dang sick in December with Covid. Damn near every symptom including weird ones. However I never had much for a cough. It was my least frequent and most mild symptom. Pretty uncommon when I was sick. 3 weeks after recovery and being released from quarantine I developed pressure in my lungs and a dry cough that would just go and go ...
Covid related cough can last for 6-8 weeks on average. This is due to the persistent airway inflammation left behind the virus. You can try out Mucinex DM tablets available over the counter for cough suppression. This is common following an infection even though infection may be gone.
Even if it's just the PVC it's worth getting looked at because it could mask real symptoms - If you're coughing anyway you may not notice if you catch a virus that would make you cough (eg. Flu, Covid). TLDR: Don't stress too much at 3 weeks, but keep an eye on it and if it persists check with your doctor. Reply reply.
