This Christmas I have found that all international couriers have asked for a recipient's contact number - luckily I have been able to e-mail customers and they have come back quickly with tel. numbers but it so easily could have resulted in a delayed parcel. If Etsy could at least set this up for international sales, that would be great.
Etsy has no phone support for sellers and no email for general help. Instead, go to your dashboard on a computer and request help. You can sometimes access live chat or request a callback. 10-26-202005:26 PM. Hello, I recently had a customer message me saying that their order never arrived. I checked the tracking number and it says it arrived 10/15 at their mailbox. I informed the customer that the tracking number said that it did arrive, they still say it did not. I asked the customer to confirm their address which they did.

While unusual, not everyone has a phone number! In most cases I use my own number. Even with regular Etsy shipping labels it will add my number because generally buyers won't leave a number. It's also legally not a requirement. Many also don't feel comfortable using their own number and will enter 555-555-5555.
