If you are currently the Family plan owner, and personally eligible for the Student one, you could cancel your Family subscription and apply for Student.

Recently I recieved a $30 Spotify giftcard and redeemed it to my Premium account. However, instead of giving me 6 months of Premium (at $5 a month), it only gave me 3 months (at $10 a month).
