Sep 12, 2023. #7. 1) They need to sttop splitting review scores based on platform. A vast majority of multiplatform games today have enough parity between them as to where no reviewer significantly alters the score based on platfrom. Currently, you have situations where a game might be a 90 on platform X and an 82 on platform Y simply due to ...

someoneproud Aug 28 @ 7:00am. Because they're bitter and pathetic. 4,000 reviews out of 10 million players is hardly representative of the reception. The only reason they can tip the scales is because most people stopped caring about metacritic & this is the closest they're gonna get to a "win". #2.

Feb 15, 2020. #1. To put it simply: metacritic weights big websites (ign, gamespot etc..) more heavily while Opencritic weights all websites equally. I can see why metacritic values big websites over small ones since they get more traffic and affect people perception of the game more, but a review is still a review and it shouldn't matter where ...

First, two important definitions: "New game" means the entry in question is not a rerelease or addendum of a game from a prior year. "At least 20 reviews" means at least one version of the game has that many reviews on Metacritic. With these definitions in mind, the list has been constructed with the following criteria: 1. Games with less than ...

  8. What review aggregator do you prefer? Opencritic or Metacritic?

Oct 4, 2023. #1. My favourite would be Steam Reviews, but it's not an aggregator, so, I still prefer Metacritic to Opencritic for one simple reason: distinction between platforms. While MC has plenty of flaws and pubs are (were) too attached to its scores for no good reason OCs insistence on throwing every review, no matter what platform the ...

Metacritic/opencritic don't cover most of the smaller releases or indy games I play, so they're effectively useless to me. I read reviews by individual sites I know to be consistently well-written, like RPS or Eurogamer. Steam reviews are informative if you read the text rather than simply going by the aggregate.

  10. Metacritic Score? :: Steam Discussions

Metacritic was one of the largest sites for review for a long time and some still use them. A Metacritic score also existed before Steam Reviews did. It is always better to have multiple sources as well. Not everyone likes the review system on Steam either and may want a different system to check on a game's score.

Baldur's Gate 3 review: "A new gold standard for RPGs". Baldur's Gate 3 is the most successful and authentic take on D&D in the tabletop franchise's 50-year history. Its complexity and size might be daunting for novices, but the breadth and depth of Baldur's Gate 3's world make this a once-in-a-generation achievement.
