Hello, I'm looking for good multipurpose rangefinder binoculars, for hunting, long-range shooting, etc. I was looking at the Vortex Fury HD 5000 which seems to be a pretty good piece of equipment and it also has the Vortex VIP warranty and it costs $1200. After doing some more research I also...

Vortex built its position by having the best warranty in the business. And that does not stop with the Fury. Like everything Vortex sells, it’s covered for life with their no-fault warranty. While that’s reasonably impressive for the optics, but not unique these days, it is unique, to my knowledge, for the electronics.

  4. Review of Vortex Fury HD vs. Nikon Laserforce ED LRF Binoculars

    www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/review-of-vortex-fury-hd-vs-nikon-laser...

First Impressions – Vortex Fury HD +1 vs Nikon Laserforce ED +0 Both binoculars look like they came off the same manufacturing line with very similar specs; however, the Fury feels like it has a bit beefier rubberized armoring, the armoring seems a bit gummy for my taste and picked up too much dog hair and dust from being set down.

If budget allows just get the Leica binoculars. Then worry about a spotter. If budget is a concern, I'd suggest the Leica monocle rangefinder and a separate set of binoculars. I'm currently running this setup with Swaro pocket binoculars that usually outperform larger binoculars from Vortex and similar.

  7. Can anyone comment on pre-2018 vs 2018 Viper HD binos?

    www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/can-anyone-comment-on-pre-2018-vs-2018...

Vortex says there was an upgrade to the optics in 2018. He didn't specify what exactly that meant and I doubt I would have understood anyway. Meety Peety, thanks for that article. Pretty sure if I stick with the Vipers I will go with the latest version. 10% off is not enough for me and there seems to be a lot to like in the new ones.

I know that Vortex reduced the price of their Razor HD a few months ago when they moved production from Japan to China to a street price price of $1099.99. IMO, the Meopta MeoStar 12x50 is a far better binocular in all ways, optically, builds, quality control.

I was looking at some lower cost binoculars for my upcoming hunting trips. Made a trip to the Cabelas and checked out the Vortex Viper HD 8x42 and 10x42 Binoculars (bother under $600), the 8x42 was really nice with good glass and clarity in low light. Looking for some recommendations before I...
