Please keep in mind that this forum is for help with the Vortex application only. If you're having problems with mods in-game please consult the mod page or the game forums (found under "Community" -> "Forums" in the main site navigation while browsing mods for that game).
Now what Vortex does when you install mods is the equivalent of creating/printing an overlay with all your modifications. "Deploying" is the act of putting that mod overlay on top of the projector, "purge" is removing the overlay from the projector.
I'm extremely glad this didn't get deleted, I was having the exact same issue with the exact same solution (my vortex app got logged out somehow and I hadn't noticed), thank you!
I just recently reinstalled Skyrim SE and used Vortex to download, and the Nexus Download Speed gods were with me that night, everything downloaded without a hitch. I did all three methods, I downloaded with Vortex, I manually downloaded, and even copied and pasted or MOVED Mods I already had, from my old MODS folder, and moved them to my ...
mods in vortex are doing everything they should. download, install, deploy etc. i just dont think they are being deployed to the correct spot. vortex keeps deploying into the game install directory, but dont work when this happens... if i manually install into the "docs/my games/starfield/data" on c: the mods work flawelessly.
Hi. I messed up my Vortex install. (Details) I'd like to reinstall it. If I run Windows 10 uninstaller, then reinstall it, will I need to reinstall all my mods? Is there a way to reinstall without wiping out mods? Thx Vortex 0.16.12
There is a setting in Vortex, which auto deploys mods, when e.g. a rule is (re)created or some mod is disabled, however manually deploying is especially needed when you have changed some files outside Vortex and want to force the dialogue to either merge the changes into the mod or the opposite - redeploy original version.
Don't confuse Load order and Deploy order with Vortex. This really messed me up initially, partly because there is a lot of wrong information being provided. Deploy Order - When you Deploy mods with Vortex, Mods are deployed in install order, except for Mods where you had to do Conflict resolutions.
So i read that you can mod the fallout 4 or skyrim that are on the game pass and i was wondering if we could add them to vortex and mod them.
But in the "Supported" tab in Vortex Mod Manager, I am only presented with 44 (None of which I even own.) Also, I too am having issues with Vortex not discovering any of my games even though they are installed on the same drive with correct exe file names, within the list of games that Nexus supports etc. Not making sense to me.
