So I just installed minecraft forge for 1.12.2 yesterday and been trying to work, but each time I try to play it it either stops the launcher from responding or says the game crashed. I have tried deleting and then reinstalling multiple times. I'm on Windows by the way.
The problem is most likely due to a to recent version of Java, Forge 1.12.2 cannot be run on Java versions superior to Java 8. Install Java 8 on your system and use it to start the server.
