Thanks for the reply. I tried all options Repair Reset Uninstall and did a restart after each option. Still no scan option in Windows Defender. Unless it is somewhere else as it is not where it used to be. Do you have defender on a pc to see where it is located and scan option is available. I have always just used Defender for my desk top security.

I found out how to scan my USB devices: Under SETTINGS, click on WINDOWS DEFENDER, then click on OPEN WINDOWS DEFENDER, and select CUSTOM scan (you'll see it listed under Quick and Full), then press SCAN. A pop-up will show the drives available for scanning. Check the boxes next to the USB devices you want scanned.
