02-20-2023 10:40 PM. My recommendation would be to not migrate the Dropbox app, or the Dropbox folder itself, since that usually causes permission issues even today on the older version. On the new Mac, you can reinstall the app from the site, sign into the app, and then let the files sync down from the site. Jay.

Since the new MacBook Pros (I have a 2021, running OS Monterey) have limited room on the menu bar, I thought maybe if I took off some apps that I don't really need, it would allow room for ones I do -- like Dropbox. First I went to my Settings, selected "Dock & Menu Bar", and clicked through the list of applications.
Currently have an old Imac, an old MacBook Air running (Sierra) and a new MacBook Air (running Ventura 13.3), I use DropBox to back up all my work files - mostly word docs. On the new mac my files are saving to DropBox but not syncing with DropBox, so I can see them but they are not syncing on my old Macs, or with anyone sharing the folders.
Dropbox just stopped working after upgrading my Mac to Ventura 13.4. I don't know if that's related but I've uninstalled and reinstalled but it still won't start up. There are a bunch of errors in the system console that I don't know how to read.

The hardware from 3 years ago will still support the operating systems currently out (that's fact) but Apple will stop "allowing" your 3+ year old machine to recieve OSX updates. The inability to run a version of OSX on a previous generation of harsware is completely a manufacturer block to an extent.
