Epic is wonderful because gives more porcentage of earnings to Devs and Studios. Beyond that... well, there's the free games, but that comes with a catch. That catch is that some games are base games wth a lot of DLC (that's the business) or, very cheap games that usually cost 1-4 USD bundled or historical low.

Epic has all three games individually at 70%+ sale ($3-9) and other sites have them cheap like you said. Not sure the precedent for free games currently on sale, refunds and all, so maybe it is the trilogy as something technically unique.
Happened with Subnautica, which was much buggier on Epic compared to the Steam version for a long while. A much bigger selection of games. These days there are launchers everywhere, consolidating as many of your games as possible on to 1 platform is the best thing you can do. Steam generally has the best new releases.

Epic Games devs, it would be super helpful for users to have a "Games Install Location" on the launcher Settings page, so the launcher can automatically recognize files in a pre-existing directory and immediately verify them.
