how to find cells with "#VALUE!" in EXCEL 2010 VBA. 0. Excel: Extract text from cell where text is always ...
Using DATE() This is the cleanest option and the method that I would recommend. =DATE(YEAR(A2),MONTH(A2),DAY(A2)) YEAR() gets the Year value from the cell, MONTH() gets the Month value, and DAY() gets the Day value. The DATE() function takes a Year, Month, and Day value, so by passing them into DATE() we can get the Date value from A2.
For example, it might try to modify a cell value or format directly. Or it might try to change an Excel option; e.g. Application.Calculation. Or it might directly or indirectly reference the cell that calls the UDF. (But in my simplistic example, my version of Excel has no problem identifying the circular reference culprit.)
I have used the formaula: =SEARCH ("*Wholesaler*", [@Categories]). This formula works as far as putting a 1 in the proper cell in the [Wholesale] column. The problem is that it also put a #VALUE! in cells that do not get the 1, and I would like for these cells to remain blank. Can this be done?
Hi EO_1000, I have tested from my side and I reference a cell in another workbook in the same folder/ location. I close both workbooks and open the data source to make changes. When I only open the workbook with the formula, I get a security warning. I click enable content and the result of the formula is refreshed.

I've got an Excel formula that strips off some characters in certain circumstances. In this example, I have a list of Baseball players' last names and whether they're a Rookie (designated by "RC").
Try F2>ENTER on a cell to see results. If a lot of cells, copy a blank cell (formatted as General) then select your data and Paste Special>Add>OK. BTW Hans' formula construction is the proper syntax. Gord. Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. I am trying to divide the value of two sum ranges (A1:A5 by B6:B8) I am using = (A1 ...
I open the spreadsheet. It has the Security warning below the toolbar "Automatic update of links has been disabled. Options". I click on "Options". I "Enable This Content". All my data turns into #value! errors. In Excel Advanced Options I already have the box checked beside "Update links to other documents".
