Yes, 100% improvement to the joy cons. Amazing battery life too. Reply reply. Codyceps. •. It's well worth the money. All the benefits of the joy-cons, but with a solid traditional construction, comfy ergonomics, and an insanely long battery life (I know a guy who has 3 and he rarely has to charge them).
Try bluetooth instead (I don't have) Change switch settings to allow pro controller wired connection (didn't work for me) Use steam to detect (didn't work) Unplugging USB and restarting PC and plugging back in (didn't work) What finally worked for me was: Going to device manager > view > devices by connections.
Joy Cons are pretty much the worst controller for the Switch excluding some of the budget controllers. And some of the budget controllers are still better than Joy-Cons. One of my Pro Controllers recently stopped working - it appeared to be entirely out of battery. I didn't think anything of it and plugged it in to charge, but no charging light came on, and it remained unresponsive. My other Pro Controller was charging fine over the same Switch/dock/cables, so I was able to elminate those as potential causes.

Open FIFA through EA Play. Press Shift + Tab in FIFA and should now bring up Steam overlay and the controller settings are therefore active.
