Neighbours is a long-running Australian television soap opera first broadcast on the Seven Network on 18 March 1985. It was created by TV executive Reg Watson, who proposed the idea of making a show that focused on realistic stories and portrayed adults and teenagers who talk openly and solve their problems together.

The following is a list of characters that appeared in the show in 2017, by order of first appearance. All characters are introduced by the shows executive producer Jason Herbison. The 33rd season of Neighbours began airing from 9 January 2017. Andrea and Willow Somers made their debuts during the same month.
July saw the arrivals of Bronwyn Davies, played by Rachel Friend, her sister Sharon Davies, played by Jessica Muschamp, and Mark Stevens as Nick Page. Mark Little began playing Joe Mangel, son of the established Nell Mangel from August. Irene Inescort arrived as Bronwyn and Sharon's aunt, Edith Chubb in the same month.
