HOPE Animal Shelter is a 501(c)3 private, non-profit organization dedicated to the direct care of the animals of Gogebic County Michigan and Iron County Wisconsin. We are the area’s only animal shelter, providing safe shelter, food and medical care to over 500 dogs and cats each year.
Dogs Available for Adoption All of our dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, flea & tick treated, current on age-appropriate vaccines, dewormed and microchipped. The adoption process at H.O.P.E. Animal Shelter begins with coming to the shelter, of course! We encourage you, and any family members to come introduce yourself to the cat or dog you might be interested in adopting.
Remember to spay/neuter you own pets; consider volunteering at your local shelter - really anything at all you can do to help is appreciated! May 13, 2023 was an eventful and full day at HOPE. We managed to have 26 cats and 11 dogs spayed and neutered that Saturday.

This handsome canine is FRASER, a 9 month old male Pit mix that was surrendered to HOPE so he could find a forever family that was a better fit for him. FRASER is a very sweet guy who has lived with children but would probably do best with children who are over the age of 10.
