Hey Spotify, if you're going to switch a user from a student plan to the normal $10.99 plan due to student verification requirements, you should try to let the user know within the app. If I had known my Spotify would've been more expensive this month, I would've budgeted that and maybe not went negative in my bank account.
A month ago my year of spotify student lapsed and I was charged full price. No problem, my mistake. Thus, I re-verified my student status (doing that SheerID stuff), and my account states this is now valid until 9/12/24. However, once again, I have been charged full premium price - why? The next screen that opens is the /account/overview page that I linked above. I press manage subscription menu button, opens page showing that I have a cancelled premium subscription & asks if I'd like to get the discount for the student premium *select get discount* and loops back to /account/overview page. Spotify, I'm not sure if you're understanding the issue. We are receiving an email that says " In a month's time, your Premium Student with Hulu and SHOWTIME plan expires. To keep your student discount, you need to reverify that you’re enrolled in an accredited college or university. Click here to reverify now."
Yes - you should be able to re-apply for the student discount at anytime since you haven't used it for 4 years. It's possible that you're unable to renew your student discount because you've leached the limit of 4 years in total of Spotify Premium Student. If you've used the discount for 4 years, you won't be able to re-activate it again.

If you'd like to buy an gift card for one year, it costs you $9.99 x 12. The receiver of the gift doesn't have any worries then, until it expires after one year.
I am paying for a Premium family subscription, I only use 3 of the 6 profiles. I use one and my 2 children use the other two. I have recently started school at a university. I want to utilize the Student account so I can have access to Hulu and Showtime. However, I still want to pay for an additional 2 profiles so my kids can still have Spotify.
